         Despite recent stabilization of the epidemic dynamics, the Government of Georgia carries on conducting rapid COVID-19 AG testing free of charge among defined priority groups – health personnel, hospitality sector employees, frontline public service workers, and also citizens with the disease symptoms. SARS-CoV-2 Antigen tests are used for the screening among above priority groups. - Given the importance of the quality of diagnostics procured under the Project, including rapid COVID-19 AG tests, WHO EUL, or US FDA EUA, and/or EU listed /CE-marked status was a requirement set by the MoILHSA.

         Following the joint decision of the Ministry and the NCDC, the PIU has conducted extended market research to obtain updated prices not only from manufacturers of the WHO qualified AG rapid tests, but also from local suppliers providing the country with diagnostics listed through the other reliable platforms - US FDA and EU-EC related - of qualified IVDs for detecting SARS-CoV-2.
